is it my imagination or are most witnesses weird, odd, and “different “?
it seems every congregation has a couple of weirdo elders, pioneers and ministerial servants.
and then you see those witnesses who attend meetings but most people seldom associate with them because... they are eccentric..
First off, the video above is classless.
In our congregation there was a brother who thoughtlessly put his hand in his pants to scratch himself before he reached to shake yours. Weird? Yes, but not because of the religion. There were overzealous ones who sang "We're Jehovah's Witnesses" while going door to door. (Quite eccentric.) People are people but since JW's are obligated to put up with the weird, classless and eccentric behavior there are a great many in the congregations.
so the tms....does anyone think it might ever go away?
possibly being replaced by a borg streaming presentation that's required viewing from home?
it seems to me that with the congregation merging and sell-off that's going on, there are going to be 4 maybe 5 congregations sharing some khs.
They need standing lessons for their cart work.

I don't refer to it as the Truth, that turns my stomach. Calling it a church sort of is a trigger to some that you might not have been a witness.Your clarification took care of that, well done.

If you are referring to it as a "Church" you've already left. Move on. "Maybe there will be room for a respectful relationship with a few on the inside", generally this will never happen. Don't get your hopes up. Burning bridges is never a good idea, but propping up bridges that are unsafe is not good either.

what's up with the watchtower society still letting those they know to have sexually abused children go out in the field service despite that being crucial to the ruling against them in the conti suit?
they don't let men with beards go out in the field service in america with the justification that "beards are not the custom" and that therefore they "are not considered acceptable for christian ministers," but having sexually abused a child is somehow acceptable for a christian minister?.
last i checked molesting children isn't considered socially acceptable according to the customs of the united states and certainly finding out that child molesters are allowed to be jehovah's witness publishers is a whole lot more alienating to potential converts than them seeing jehovah's witness publishers with beards.
Is D2D really a danger? Pedos groom and plot, I imagine they wouldn't grab a kid at a door and touch them. I was told that a pedophile had to be accompanied by an elder in the D2D work and weren't allowed out on their own. Also, if there is a known pedophile in the territory a note is made in the territory and it is not to be called on. How's that for two faced?

He might have been a nice guy but anyone who speaks in religious absolutes is a danger to others and themselves. It seems to be a symptom of fundamentalism.
